A Rare Heritage Breed
Farm Raised. Wild at Heart.
Loch Duart isn’t just a company or a body of water. It’s the name of our very own heritage breed of Scottish salmon.
Directly descended from Scotland’s iconic wild salmon, our Loch Duart heritage breed has preserved a pure bloodline through over 25 years of dedicated, expert breeding.
Hand-selected for wild-like traits—sleek, torpedo-shaped bodies, vibrant vitality, bright eyes, and flawless skin—only the finest specimens are chosen to produce the next generation.
Raised in their native waters, Loch Duart salmon are proven to be genetically indistinguishable from their wild Scottish cousins. You can really see the difference and taste it in their superior flavour.
No other farm in the world shares this unique heritage breed—it's what makes our fish truly special.
Unique Feed
What do wild salmon eat? A diet high in marine proteins. At Loch Duart, we aim to replicate this by feeding our farm-raised fish a high-quality, marine-rich diet, specially crafted to meet the wild nutritional needs of our salmon.
This feed is unique to our fish and focuses on the highest quality ingredients — because we believe that when you put quality in, you get quality out.
It’s not the easy way. It takes more time, effort, and is more expensive than conventional feeds — but the results speak for themselves.
